Thoughts On Anxiety

For people with acute anxiety, planning our day can often feel like landscaping with snowflakes.

A difference in real life is that anxiety is a 4 season 24/7 ready or not condition.

An anxiety bloom is when a few or several things, events swirl around within a short period of time in days or weeks. It all builds so that any little thing can become a big deal that wakes me up in the middle of the night.
Calming down takes time.
Reasoning away intense feelings of dread takes effort.

I put effort into believing in my strength. I think about how well I can, and will handle things by standing up for myself politely, using common sense and/or having the wisdom to walk away.

Have an anxiety free week-end!

Make faces in a mirror
Tune up your hobbies
Read about Earth's seas
Make kale chips
Create your own spices mix
Browse straw hats online
Dance to silence
   Have a coffee frappe
Find a dust ball,
and give it a name

  1. So sorry you're experiencing some anxiety. We can just do the best we can, and no one can expect any more. Wishing you peace and calmness this weekend. Have a nice hot cup of tea and treat yourself to a treat. You deserve it.

  2. Sheri,
    Spring begins this Monday!
Spring cleaning is progressing to donation box full soon. Purging stuff can make almost anyone feel better. :)

  3. I hate having anxiety and stress. I experience it in a car so I have some idea of what you are talking about. But I don't want to give up riding with someone so I keep getting out there. I just added your blog to my blog list again. It was missing for some strange reason! Happy weekend!

  4. Yes, A bit of organizing does help shift a person mentally into a calmer frame of mind.

  5. I am sending you a virtual hug - anxiety isn't something that's easy to deal with and many people who don't understand it tend to think it's something you can talk yourself out of or brush it off as being 'all in your head'.
A coffee frappe sounds like a good thing.

  8. I hope your anxiety subsides, Maywyn. I find that getting things done helps me to deal with those awake-in-the-middle-of-the-night thoughts and worries.

  9. Anxiety has some things in common with depression, I find.

    Sorry you have car anxiety.

I try to reduce mine by no radio, being late or wearing cologne. Weird, but it helps.

I changed this blog's URL to blog's name. That interupted the feed. Sorry.

  11. Big hugs to you. I don't deal with anxiety often but when I do it's a real challenge. I hope you find the best way to self-care till it eases.

  12. Liz,
Organizing this year includes down sizing. I don't need 3 holiday trees. That's as far as I've made it so far. Then I remember the $100.00 price new on a short 4 foot tree.
Peace of mind is a good goal.

  13. Maryanne,
    Hugs!
In the old days, 1990s, anxiety felt worse by many people being dismissive, making fun, being aggravated when you had to cancel or ask to turn around and take you home. Now that more celebrties reveal their anxiety condition so folks understand it better, I think understanding is much higher.
I avoid the dismissive types that still exist.

Thank you. Getting up at night to do things does help.
I got up last night to sort storage bins. I am delighted to have found an empty one! Afterwards, I slept well. lol

  16. William,
I agree. When anxiety blooms, it makes depression worse.

  19. While I don't have to manage it all the time, I've experienced some anxiety and know about waking up with thoughts twirling and it does take an effort to calm.
I have made kale chips! The price of them in the grocery store was ridiculous so saving money on certain things allows me to have more for art supplies! ;)

  20. Mary,
Kale chips surprise me how delicate they are. Yes to art supplies. Your goat painting is gorgeous.
