The Someday List
Furniture Extension Springs |
After every sorting of stuff there is a pile and/or box of items that have expired their use life or else I forget why I saved them.
Fact is, there are objects that are so cute on their own that we keep them around for a while, (years even), such as the furniture extension springs found in a plastic bag during sorting. I bought them for a sculpture class project.
Another clear epoxy resin lamp may be in my future or another sculpture.

Another idea goes on the Someday List...
I'd have no idea what to do with them.
ReplyDeleteWilliam,
ReplyDeleteThat makes two of us.
I remember they didn't make it into the sculpture because the metal is too hard for hand tools.
I see possible earrings. I have a box of various metal things to use for jewelry making, or collage on canvas? I have old spigots, screws, tarnished keys, rusty bits... etc.

I'm going through that right now, too. It takes forever to clean out certain areas and you can't tell I did it because the stuff is so SMALL!
ReplyDeleteMary,
ReplyDeleteInteresting idea. The springs are on the very heavy side for earrings, but a short necklace might work.
Jeanie,
ReplyDeleteYou describe perfectly how I feel about the entire room. lol
I know what you mean. I found an old rusty nail in the patio area and kept it for awhile. I think because it was so big and it looks like it's been there for awhile, very old. Those furniture springs look unique, don't they?

Sheri,
ReplyDeleteConsider gluing on sparkles or pearls to the nail.
I found rail tie spike and covered it with faux pearls for my desk in first time at college.
The springs connect the thinner springs to a frame.
I think those springs would make a wonderful outdoor mobile/wind chime. They're simply too good to get rid of!
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
ReplyDeleteGood idea!
They'll be great clanging agaist with vintage spoons.
