Photo of the Week

Otter Creek Park

Look at those classy shades of green. Mesmerizing, they are to this artist (that doesn't like to paint big green landscapes). The wavey reflections soften the scene. The light is just right in the photograph.

The trees are on the northeastern side of the park where you can drive down to. On the other side of the creek, at the boat launch area, there are picnic tables as well as a hiking path.

Have a good last week of June 2023. Clean out the coolers. Dust off the straw hats. Select your picnic dining utensils and insulated water glass.

PS...1:11 PM EDT there is a thunderstorm and downpour over Vergennes.

  1. I have such a tough time painting good greens. These would be tough but they're wonderful.

  4. Jeanie,
You aren't alone. Painting greens is challenging.
There are good Youtube videos showing how to mix greens.

  5. Sheri,
The water reflections are good to use for learning how to paint water.

More thunderstorms passed through here this afternoon. I think they are finished for the day.

  6. Several thunderstorms rolled through here yesterday but we were glad of the rain that came along with them.
The photo of the week is beautiful but my thoughts turn to how to translate it into fabric rather than paint. I won't be attempting it, but fun to contemplate anyway.

  7. Maryanne,
It boggles my mind transferring the photo into a quilt.
For a water study, it is a good resource.
As I type, I hear thunder from a storm cell just east of here. The rain is nice. The humidity is tolerable.
