Farewell July 2023
July 2023 has been a month of oh no not again rainy weather. A lovely four weeks in many ways, the soggy humid days bring adjust to it skill to the forefront.
Can we mind it when we are blessed with being here to participate, witness Nature, flora and fauna readily moving to the rhythm of life? Sure we can! Humans are the best at being grumpy more than any other species, even cats. The excessive rainfalls that result in flooding gives us cause to reach peak grumpy.
August, I am praying is summery, more outdoors weather than inside playing cards or watching reels. I plan to revel in those 31 days like it is 1964 (except it won't be at the New Jersey sh0re)!
Beautiful floral shot of the petunia ~ Hope August weather will be lovely ~

Carol,
ReplyDeleteIf we all look to August as summery, then maybe our dream will come true.
We’ve had a lot of rain, though not as much as Nova Scotia. However, it cools it off a bit since we’ve had the heat and humidity too.
ReplyDeleteMarie,
ReplyDeleteThe cool off fell down on Vermont. Earlier today it was cool when I walked outside. Quite a surprise considering the humidity has been so high.
Have a good weekend
Beautiful petunia! Seems like the weather patterns are either feast or famine in most of the world (and they say global warming isn't real).
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
ReplyDeleteThose petunias bloom 3 or 4 and no more. I think next year they will get a planter of their own. I put them out for the hummingbirds.
When I went to work today it was a soggy mess outside and then stayed mostly soggy. We didn't get to prime and paint today. Maybe tomorrow. That's okay though. It's nice and cool inside and I'm showered and in my jammies. I do enjoy rainy weekends. Snowy ones too. Though tomorrow I'd love to finish what we started with our old shed in making it new again. Happy Weekend. Cheers, Ivy.
ReplyDeleteWhile here has been hot and sunny.
ReplyDeleteIvy,
ReplyDeleteGood luck on being dry to paint tomorrow. Finishing a project is a great source of relief.
Happy Weekend to You!
William,
ReplyDeleteI am glad y'all have sunshine!
It's a high hope, but I hope for some cooler days in August where I can enjoy being outside more. We're in a wicked heatwave at the moment. Though we've had a nice amount of rain in recent days. Everything is green, and that's not exactly normal as we close out July.
ReplyDeleteBecki,
ReplyDeleteCooler temps for y'all
We've had warm, but more rain than warm.
Love the pretty flowers. We are still short of rain here, it seems to go all around us. Wishing you a happy August!
ReplyDeleteIt has been rainy here too and more set in - and chilly. Today it's pouring. I have to say I don't usually enjoy grey dismal weather but I'm immensely grateful we have it right now, rather than the horrific temperatures elsewhere - our news is full of images of wildfires and distress and the cool and gentle rain seems like a blessing. All the same, like you, I hope that we get some pleasantly sunny days too.
ReplyDeleteEileen,
ReplyDeleteThere is a similar corridor of missing us here as well. Rain or snow to the south and north happens often.
Jenny,
ReplyDeleteGood y'all have rain.
The heat in other places is brutal.
We've been lucky with no major heat waves here like last year, so far.
California has had drought for such a long time, that I rejoice when it rains. We are doing Ok right now, thankfully. I have a blog friend in Wisconsin who has a drought going on right now too. A lovely picture of your pink flowers.

Sheri,
ReplyDeletePrayets for reasonable rain in drought areas
I am confident after all the rain in New England this year, our area droughts are over.
Now THAT sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate August! I hope you get your wish!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jeanie
ReplyDeleteI'm starting the fun with a lot of fruit and heavy cream to make a small amount of peach ice cream. :)
