Mr Bixby Hanging Out

Mr Bixby Among the Flowers

The petunias were ragged when I moved them. A few days later, they perked up.
The planter is a rusty galvanized tin stack section from a long gone factory (lamp shades?) that was, (I've been told), in downtown Vergennes. Dismantled, parts were dumped in the woods at my (deceased) parent's property before they moved to Vermont in the 1960s.
Mother gave me the piece for a sculpture project. It will be moving on to a love one's home. I will be redoing my tiny garden to fewer annuals.

Rain is the forecast. Thus far today, clouds, sunshine and cooler. It feels nice to sit outdoors again.

Wishing All Y'all a Good Week!

  3. Sheri,
All day waiting for rain, a few minutes ago there was only enough to cover the deck before the sun came out again.

  4. Maryanne,
The resin garden goose has been out there for ten plus years. This year he needs a bit of waterproof tape and paint.

  5. Mr Bixby has been enjoying this summer's weather no doubt.i have replaced the one pot of petunias I had in hopes they perk up as they are in a sad state. How I love the full moon but he always wants me to stay awake with him.

  7. Cathy,
There is something eating the petunia petals at night. I'm not sure what it is.
Hopefully it will find other food away from my flowers.

  9. Sweet Mr. Bixby.
I can give you rain, it's been raining here for days and above all it's windy, cold and grey... the sun is missing. I wish the sun back.

  13. Beautiful photograph of the garden with these beautiful flowers. Water in abundante is the best that they like. Have a nice August, with Joy, health, and happyness.

  14. Jeanie,
Mr Bixby loves watching over the garden.
This year will be spending the winter indoors. The resin appears in places to be not as sturdy as when he was younger.

  15. Debra,
I miss Sam every time I see a goose even though I know her spirit is with your there.
Last week I spent a lot of time organizing my painting area. There is a determination I haven't felt before watching hours of YouTube art videos, especially Landscape Artist of the Year and Portrait Artist of the Year.

  16. J.S.,
We have had a lot of rain here in Vermont. I am hoping for the end of droughts around the World.
