Summer Is Today, No Promises for Tomorrow

Grumpy Cosmos

Today is Summery!

Partly cloudy with nary a whiff of rain in the air. Is this Earth, my heart wants to know.

For dinner* I am pondering to have cold squash soup, a squash fry up or a baked veggies with rice medley on a bed of salad greens.

On day 3 of exercise bike routine renewal, I have yet to feel any sore muscles from it.

For the 3rd time in my Wordle doing life, today I guessed in 2 tries. The day before, I had a 6.
Life as life goes.

Does anyone know of a good language learning program for Irish, Welsh or Scots? I want my daydreams to be more authentic.

The more episodes of UK's, "Landscape Artist of the Year," the more I question the judges' decisions. There are too many very good artists not chosen than in the potrait series.

Are there art documentaries or shows you like to watch?

*Late lunch. I got lazy, had graham crackers and a small glass of beer.

  1. I have a bunch of art documentaries stacked up in my streaming services --mostly on artists (a couple of VanGogh), some on forgers. I enjoy that genre. But most of the time, give me a British show, especially a mystery or a history, and I'm happy!

    Your menu sounds terrific!

  2. I am not familiar with any art documentaries-I would enjoy viewing those.
I learned back in the late '60's early '70's that art shows etc are not judged fairly at all which is sad-which had me thinking probably nothing is judged fairly
Happy friday and weekend coming up

  3. Jeanie,
It is good to write down a list of shows because YouTube's filing program is awful. The last episode I was watching should be right at the top. Instead, I usually have to do a search.

  4. Kathy,
I agree with you, shows are probably not judged fairly. There are hiccups, but not always.

Decades ago, I was chosen to be in a then local juried show. When folks found out, some had attitude, questioning how did "she" get in, as if their artwork is better than mine. Frankly, my painting is better than what they submitted.
Local shows, thos3 same people won. Nobody knows you or has an agenda, judging can be more fair.

  5. I’ve added the stationary bike to my exercise routine. My legs feel stronger! Good luck with the bike.

  6. Marie,
    Good luck with your exercising.

Starting off with an exercise/stationary bike, I have to remember not to do too much, too soon. I don't use a timer. It is easy for me to get lot in daydreaming until muscles tighten up.

  7. I rarely see documentaries of any kind...Resident Chef has the care and control of the tv remote and they're not something he's interested in. I don't normally 'watch' tv and it's simply on in the background while I knit or crochet so I don't really care what he puts on. I know I could watch such things on my computer but then it would cut into my stitching time because then I'd feel as though I had to actually watch. Then there's the issue of going over my allotted bandwidth which I discovered was a no-no when I was streaming music for awhile. All that long-winded explanation to say that I don't watch!

  8. I walk and walk and walk maybe the gym this winter when it gets icy.
But as you know I am dodging a bear at times right now so I walk with a couple of hiking poles.
I love gram crackers but hate beer the smell turns my stomach not sure why.
I need to get caught up here on your posts.

  9. It's great that you are wanting to learn different languages. My son is trying to learn French. I would choose baked veggies with rice and a salad. That's always good. Cold soup doesn't sound good to me. ; )

Have a lovely rest of the week.

  10. Maryanne,
Maybe try negotiation with Resident Chef. Once a week a few hours for you.
I listen more than I watch on some shows.

  11. Cathy,
Walk with bear spray! Stay safe
I read you also have to know who to use bear spray.

The rice and veggies is today. I've been neglecting the stove too long. :)

  12. Sheri,
    Strawberry soup is good cold.
French is a fun language to learn. I use an old textbook. The disk, though, doesn't seem to line up with the lessons in the book.

  14. William,
Good to know you have sunshine.

Today in Vermont, half a day is all we've had. Really nice morning, thunderstorm afternoon.
