Wednesday With a Few Words

The variegated petunias are showing more patches of white with a few that are full on white and purple.
I moved plants around yesterday to put more in the soil. Some stay where they are, some move.

A day of rest from the exercise bike has been nice. Weeding is good to get back to. I'll do more as little by little is good for the muscles, and gets me outdoors more. Almost 2 days of sunshine feels fantastic.

August soon. Can you believe it!? I'm still stuck thinking about June's Midsummer.

P.S. Wordle in 3 today 😎

  1. I can't believe it's going to be August! I have sort of a love/hate feeling about August. I guess I just want it back to May or June-I always miss the robins' beautiful chorus-they will stop soon. And the lightning bugs will dwindle in numbers. But of course there are wonders in every month. I'm just not ready yet to think about Fall!

  2. Debra,
I expect the fireflies will last through August, at least up here in this part of Vermont where the humidity seems to becoming normal instead of a sometimes thing.
I am looking for summer to go well into September.

Enjoy the good weather when it is good!

  3. August is coming fast! I think those variegated petunias are so pretty. Petunias are such dependable flowers.

  4. Two days of sunshine sounds great. I'm hoping no rain tomorrow so I can prime and maybe paint our updated shed. Weeding is enjoyable. Love my hands in dirt.

  5. Lorrie,
Time spent outdoors after dinner enjoying the end of the day can make time feel slower.
    Enjoy your travels!

  6. Happy,
    Wishing you good painting weather!

I spray painted a patio table base today. It was breezy, but not bothersome. The paint dried faster. :)

  7. Can't believe it's August soon! So good that you are outside weeding and clearing things out. I do like weeding too, but haven't been outside to do yard work lately cause of the heat. Hopefully, it will get cooler soon. Have a good rest of the week.

  8. I weeded a bit today too and dead-headed some plants earlier this week. Getting out in the garden is a pleasure for sure.

  9. Sheri,
Heat is a problem here as well.

I sat on the deck, umbrella up, but not for long because of the heat. There was a nice breeze. The front patio is hotter, no sitting out there.

  10. Marie,
Good news you got out to weed.

Something is devouring the larger petunia flowers. I suspect those June beetles.

  11. Yes Maywyn how did July slip by so quickly. Your variegated petunias are gorgeous. Let us enjoy the nice weather that summer brings. Take care and have a great end to your week. Hugs!

  12. Hugs, Debbie
The week is ending with rain.
That means I don't have to water the flowers, and the weeds will be easier to pull up when the rain stops.

  14. Carol,
The petunias in planters are doing better than the ones in the ground this year.

  15. We sometimes get frost towards the end of August and then it's a slippery slope after that. I don't want August to come for that very reason. I try to hang onto summer as long as I can.

  16. Maryanne,
I put in my request for a summery August.
The nights can be very cold here in Vermont in August.
I read a news headline for snow in October. That's okay.

  17. Thank you, William
    Have a fun weekend

  18. I cannot believe we're heading into August! It looks like you're enjoying summer. I think I remember that being a resolve of yours this year?

  19. Becki,
Yes, but the rain has slowed things down so far.
