"Paprika" Red Yarrow

"Paprika" Red Yarrow

Finding the "Paprika" Red Yarrow at the Green Haven Gardens on Route 7, is a thrill!

The Pink Grapefruit yarrow I bought earlier in the summer is going by already. I'm hoping the red blooms after the pink for a summer of blossoms. The actual color is much the same, a deep pure red, as in the photo.

  4. Ivy,
Paprika is a wonderful spice. Potato salad isn't good without it.

  5. Mary,
Finding a good solid red in a flower outside of roses and petunias is a real treat.

  6. Jeanie,
As aged creeps up on me, perennials are the way to go. At the garden center, I saw an orange-rust echinacea (cone flower) that is gorgeous. Next year I will be buying that flower.

  7. Marie,
Red is a good color to brighten up a garden.
With white yarrow and blue cornflowers, the red will be perfect.

  8. Oooooo, what a pretty bunch of flowers. I always have to stop for red flowers and red birds. There's just something about them. ; )

  9. Sheri,
Aside from roses and petunias, a good solid red flower isn't in the usual landscapes I see. The colors are mostly pinks and blues. I,m going to dry a cluster to see if the red remains.

  14. Maryanne,
When the flowers fade, the go to a dull pink color. So far they are doing as well as the pink grapefruit yarrow.
