Day 301 of Week 43 in October 2023
Scrolling through pictures, the date or where the image is captured is no longer with the details
The foliage around town is about the stage of the maple. There is something about the golden leaves and dark branches that feels classy. At this lower elevation, there is a foliage vibe of a comfy knit throw around my shoulders that I don't sense when I'm in the mountains at peak foliage. Maybe being close to home is what generates that atmosphere of warmth.
I've been up into the wee hours watching videos. That means rising later in the morning for a shorter day. My YouTube watching days are settling like a pond with an old log surfacing enough for turtles to sun themselves. I know why the latest surge of depression. The goal is to push through it by putting aside daydreams, and working on the reality at hand. The canvas in the other room.
Stunning photos. There is actually something about the golden leaves.

Thank you, Melody
ReplyDeleteI will take a look at your fashion post.
Have a splendid weekend!
We saw a flock of snow geese like that when we drove across Canada. Sadly the driving conditions that day were so bad that we didn't dare stop to attempt to take any photos. The wind was so bad it was blowing semi rigs right off the highway and we had to drive in the ruts of snow (early snowfall caught us unaware). They were a beautiful sight.
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
ReplyDeleteThat is scary driving throught snowy conditions like that. I am glad y'all made it safely home.
The snow geese in flight, the whole flock lifting off the ground or arriving at the refuge is magical.
The snow geese against that sky is quite an incredible sight.
ReplyDeleteNow classy is not a word I would have thought of to describe a maple tree - ever. lol Though, I think we have a sugar maple in our front yard that is a gorgeous thing. I will say, you've made me want to challenge myself to maybe find some different words to describe the wonder that autumn is.
ReplyDeleteMarie,
ReplyDeleteThe weather makes it tricky to know when they will arrived. Then there is where they going to congregate. I missed them this year.
If you aren't outdoors much, then you miss hearing them fly over.
A lot is to be said about exercise outdoors.
Becki,
ReplyDeleteYour front yard must look very Octobery.
The local sugar maple trees aroundhere this year are turning color beautifully.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Lovely pictures.. the changing colors of the leaves is so comforting.. I couldn't imagine living in a place without them.
ReplyDeleteLovely series of autumn photos ~
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

Hena,
ReplyDeleteAutumn is a bonus living in a 4 season climate.
Carol,
ReplyDeleteAutumn is in full bloom here in Vermont even when past peak foliage.
Great picture of the snow geese. I go to the creek often, but don't ever see the snow geese. I'm wondering if they even live in my area? A comfy knit throw sounds nice to me. It's very cold here already.

I used to think red trees were the prettiest. I don't anymore. I'm all about the yellow. They just catch the sun and even if it's gloomy, they still look great!
ReplyDeleteSheri,
ReplyDeleteThe snow goose migration map looks like California is in the pathway. If there's a water place where they can stop over, then that is where they might be. Framer's fields where there is corn and water nearby is a plus.
Jeanie,
ReplyDeleteThere is always a big maple tree around with yellow leaves where the sun just lights it up.
I told myself years ago, standing under such a tree when the sun shines throught it, is good for making a wish.
