Sun Shining on the Floor Is Not Good For Fallen Gray Hair

Disclaimer...I am attempting to be humorous about aging.

Any day now I will not be surprised to read about a study that seeing gray hair on the floor when the sunsines through the window means you have a ten percent chance of passing away early in the morning.

It feels like every time I am happy with something or notice something about the stages of aging I am going through, there's a blankety-blank blank study that indicates it  may cause a stroke, heart attack or takes ten years off my life. It is getting so the older I become, the less likely all that will matter. I may not have ten years to deduct.

I need my greasy crisp food! I can't go without a crunch for long. Celery and carrots don't count. I want the flavor of grease and spices in my food sometimes. And another thing, fruit sorbet will never replace coffee ice cream!

After getting the new covid booster shot the other day, today is the first time I can use my right arm without discomfort. Last night I was feeling poorly. Today I feel fine. I don't know what happened. Sleep maybe?

I should be at the canvas painting today. Sorry it is taking me so long to get really started on the fall series. This is Friday. For me it feels like Tuesday.

Have a Crunchy Comfy Weekend!

Sing anything you feel like singing
Cook apple pancakes
Draw a map of your ideal town
Tell a brick a funny story
Make a fun mask
Mark up a tee shirt with weather symbols
Consider going to church
Pray for Peace

  1. I find I can scare myself with all the 'medical/nutritional info on the internet and recall that a physician told me long ago ~ You can eat anything you want but 'in moderation' so enjoy what you like.

  2. Carol,
You aren't alone. It is scary reading the health sections sometimes.

  3. Aging isn't for wimps! With all that can go wrong, it's amazing that any of us are still walking around hale and hearty. I'm with you on the crispy greasy things - potato chips trump dessert for me.
Since we can't do much about our age, it's good to laugh at it.

  4. Lorrie,
That's for sure, not for wimps.
I think aging is more difficult than being a teenager.

  6. Marie,
Aging with nothing at the end of life, but death feels like a cruel design. Science wise, the physics, makes sense, but humans should know how to transcend one stage of the soul to another without the grief.

  7. It seems like somewhere there's a study saying that pretty much everything is bad for us. I'm a firm believer in everything in moderation and generally ignore all the so-called 'experts'. Having said that, I've never been a fan of eating fatty or deep fried foods and actually far prefer fruit and veggies over red meat.

  8. Maryanne,
    You have a good diet.

Greasy spoon diners of my youth scarred me with wanting greasy crisp food, and all the fried chicken I use to cook way back when. I shudder to think that I made fried chicken regularly. Moderation is good.

  9. I understand how discouraging it is to continually read all the things that will do us in. At some point, I throw up my arms and accept that we were simply not meant to live in these bodies forever. One thing or another is going to take us out.

Your strength is an inspiration to me. Living well despite the imperfect world is a triumph we can celebrate.

  11. I chuckled at your comment, "fruit sorbet will never replace coffee ice cream!" That's so true, isn't it? I need a crispy taco filled with lots of stuff now and then. ; )

  12. I got the Covid shot yesterday and today fever of 101, aches and pains (beyond the usual), headache from hell and the obligatry sore arm. It's always something.

I'm trying hard to stop reading things that scare me.

Respectfully disagreeing about sorbet vs. Coffee ice cream!

  13. Sheri,
I've gone sour on sorbet after a diverticulitis flare up from eating too much sorbet. The acid from fruit is noted.

  14. Jeanie,
    I hope you feel better.

For sure, this last covid booster side effects are the worse I've had for any shot. I think maybe the boosters are becoming stronger. Maybe another factor we aren't told about.
