Have a Lovely Week!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scheduling a post means  there's no news on what's going on when you wake up, unless, of course, you can tell the future.
That said.
This morning my most unfavorite weather is sleet. Sleety slush (nice ID name) is covering everything. Thankfully, I have no errands to run today.
I've been researching pan watercolors because they are so easy to use. Thus far, I'm staying with Winsor & Newton. Pans, maybe not. I have dry watercolor in tubes that are about the same thing. Adding up my palette of watercolor 5 ml tubes, there isn't much difference in the cost of pans versus tubes. I don't know how to figure out the volume of pigment difference.
There was a time when I was mainly a watercolorist. I changed over years ago to acrylic because it suited the depression better.
Now that I'm lifting out of an episode of the horrid blues, I'm rethinking things in various areas of my life.
Thankfully again, not blogging hasn't resurfaced. Art has because painting has been a real struggle.  Wardrobe is another area as I want to down size my volume of laundry. I didn't buy a beautiful sweater at a fantastic price on sale because it is chenille aka bulky lint city. There's no longer an entire wash of chenille pajamas and sweathers for me to do since I stopped buying, and tossed most of them. I also tossed old tee shirts into the rag bag. Cooking is on the list as well. When I was a stay at home married person, I daily fed my family. Sure, there were new recipes that created laughable surprises, but I cooked more good meals than bad. Frankly, that burnt pumpkin pie was rather attrative with a rustic vibe.
Today I'm filling a big soup mug with the different teas for a teast tasting. Most are repeats I forget the flavor of. The trick is to taste any of them because the 2022 covid booster took away about 90% of my sense of taste. The covid booster this year hasn't brought it back as I had hoped. However, I was able to taste tea the other day.
I could rattle on as I hear what sounds like a plow truck. I think it is probably a sander. It is thickly slushy outside. I woke just after 4 AM EDT. Maybe a nap* is in order.
*Nap was nice, but not long enough. ☺
  1. I am so sorry you are feeling down. It was a sleet snow mix when I went to bed but it warmed through the night to just rain. Although I would not be surprised if there are patches if ice.
  3. Happy to hear you were able to taste you tea. Also very good to hear you have lifted out of your blues. Be Well.
  4. Cathy,
    It warmed up here as well. The slush is melting.
    Darkness early in the evening and morning takes getting use to. Wake up at 6 AM to darkness makes the day feel weird.
  5. Marie,
    The nap this AM was wonderful.
    I dreamed Robert Redford was helping me renovate an old house.
  6. Hena,
    Your San Francisco trip made me smile.
    Have a wonderful week!
  7. I have stuck to tubes of watercolor, but I have to admit-some of the pans look so pretty, I'm tempted to get one. But instead I'm going to make my own palette for watercolors using air dry clay. It seems to be the rage now-I'm interested in seeing how mine will come out. I hope you will show some of your recent watercolors.
  8. Debra,
    Dry air clay sounds like it is good to have handy. I think I'll add some to my next art supply order.
  9. The photos of the creek look very cold!
    I basically use my tubes as pans, filling my own palette with the colors I like and use most. I've thought of doing two palettes, one warm colors, one cool colors -- but then when I traveled I'd have two to cart along!
  10. Jeanie,
    A 2 sided palette would work for warm and cool colors.
    A travel palette with full or half pans works as well.
  11. Very sad to hear that you lost your taste during covid. Maybe it will take a while before it all comes back. It's good that you can taste the tea. Looking at your photos gives me a chill, so cold this time of year. Take care and stay warm.
  12. A nap on a sleety slush day sounds perfect, as does tea tasting. So sorry about your lack of taste.
  13. Bill,
    Your foggy morning photo gave me the chills. Fog doesn't get that thick very often at the elevation where I live in Vermont.
    I hope one of these days a lab figure out how to fix the covid sense of taste issues.
  14. Your photos are filled with browns, and so pretty. They remind me of Winter. I think downsizing your clothes is a good idea, especially if you don't wear this or that anymore. Yes, it does save time on the laundry. I really only have a few choice clothes anymore since I moved so many times. Tea tasting is a good idea. Sorry you lost some of your taste. I've been drinking peppermint, and it's relaxing. Have a good November week.
  15. Lorrie,
    Tea tasting starts tomorrow at lunch time.
    The acid in teas is too much for a delicate morning stomach.
  16. Sheri,
    Your red mug is so pretty, I'm going to hunt one down for my peppermint tea this winter. Thank you!
  17. Your November photos are divine ~ Wow!
    but the 'greys' can contribute to your down feelings if you don't like those kind of weather days ~ although they are a good time to get your tea out and a good book ~ I try to accept the weather because I have no power to change it ~ lol ~ laughing at myself being powerless over much ~ I work on my 'attitude.'
    Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,
  18. Carol,
    It is nice to be outdoors in the fresh air.
    I sat on the bench and made a video, just a few minutes. It was so cold and windy, the tips of my fingers were nearly numb.
    Gloves!
  19. I actually bought that red cup at Rite Aid, if you have one close by. It was around $7, but I got it for around $3, cause I had my Rite Aid discount card. I hope you find one. It's big, but not too heavy, just right. : )
  20. Thank you, Sheri
    The Rite Aid stores close by were sold out to Walgreens. The Rite Aid stores left in Vermont are over an hour away.
    I found a Nordic design mug at Target.
    I found a really nice one at Walmart...in Canada. lol
  21. Slush and gray on gray is not what we want in winter...
    Then it's wonderful to create something beautiful inside... with paints and brushes, with the sewing machine, the knitting needles... there are many possibilities.
    I wish you a happy week.
    A hug from me.
  22. Woke up to snow this morning and, wonder of wonders, the sun is trying to shine. Sadly I don't get to stay home and have to go out this afternoon. By all reports the roads overnight were a mess with all sorts of closures and accidents (mainly because foolish people don't remember how to drive in the snow).
    I used to love flavoured teas but have pretty much gotten away from them for some reason. Really should revisit some of them.
  23. Maryanne,
    Have a safe trip out and about.
    Snow expected here this afternoon arriving from the west. The sun is shinning brightly at the moment. I am grateful for that.
    It is funny, even though we stay indoors most of the time, the weather still is a large part of our lives.
  24. Viola,
    Knitting needles this winter will be within reach here. It is too easy for me to forget projects, they are better close where they can't be hidden under piles of stuff.
    Have a wonderful week as well!
    Hugs
