The Nice Things To Do For Yourself List
Me first...
- Make a holiday ornament
- Set up a weekly tea tasting
- Cook a new recipe once a week
- Read a biography of a person who was born before 1950
- Weekly foot soak using scented soap, herbs and such
- Daily watercolor sketch
- Blackberry brandy & hot chocolate toddie on dark windy afternoons or at 3 AM when I wake up because I napped too long the day before
- Mail homemade greeting cards
- Sing a Christmas carol
Your turn.
These are lovely. Mine includes hot chocolate at night. Movie matinee at home on DVD. Or maybe both at once.
ReplyDeleteHave a nap in the middle of a busy day.
ReplyDeleteLiz,
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea to watch a movie.
I'm adding that to my list.
Marie,
ReplyDeleteA nap in the middle of the day!
Adding that to my list as well.
Every year I hope to have all the 'stuff' done for Christmas giving by the end of November so I have December free to be flexible and not stressed to the nines. This year I actually think I might make it. Spent the afternoon (after we did the Christmas cards) in my chair in the living room with my nose in a book. Tomorrow and every chance I get thereafter will be spent making friends with my new sewing machine. Next weekend will be time to set up the tree and do what little decorating will get done just for the two of us. I intend to attempt to cut the ornament collection by quite a bit - we'll see.
ReplyDeleteStitch, cook, send out my Christmas cards, enjoy my Christmas decor while enjoying a warm fire in or fireplace. Janice
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
ReplyDeleteYou are organized well.
My cards go out this week.
Janice,
ReplyDeleteA fireplace is a treasure, so relaxing, lots of atmosphere.
I have my eye on a small, electric stove for atmosphere.
Sitting by the fire with a mug of hot chocolate while watching the snow fall is a treat for me.
ReplyDeleteLove your list of small treats and may copy the idea for a post.
Lorrie,
ReplyDeleteThe Hungarian Mushroom Soup recipe photo on your blog is stuck in my brain. I think this weekend's treat with be that soup.
Use any of my suggestions. Have a fun week!
I set up the tea tasting this morning.
Now that is a super list. I would add "watch a favorite holiday movie once a week (at least)!
ReplyDeleteJeanie,
ReplyDeleteAdding a weekly movie.
I forgot about those films this time of year.
I like your list today. Blackberry brandy and hot chocolate toddie sounds really nice. Have never heard of that before. Your skate ornament is so cute, and I love the red reindeer. : )
ReplyDelete~Sheri
Sheri,
ReplyDeleteThe red deer is vintage.
One year I bought a lot of yard sale and thrift store vintage ornaments to put on gifts. I don't see many of them for sale anymore.
