Gosh, I wish those were currently in bloom! We've had a succession of dull foggy days here and it's getting on my nerves. I remember as a child picking these and plucking each individual petal (are they petals?) to taste the bit of nectar at their base.
Maryanne, You had an inquisitive mind thinking nectar in clover. I wonder how many people will be trying to taste the nectar after reading your comment. lol
I ate wood sorrel as a kid because it was there, and I liked the taste.
While I know that there are those who would wish Sumer to be closer, I am not among them. For myself, the seasons are to be enjoyed nd not hurried, Sumer will come in good time as will 2024 in a couple of days.
There are winter's when I can't help wish they were over. The warm rainy ones are especially dreary for me. But, that looks like the type of environment New England is transitioning towards.
