A Busy Day Being Busy

Bird Seed at Sunrise

Bird tracks in the snow are such a joy to see. Why do they hop around here and there, stop, look like they're thinking, and then hop around more?

Have you ever been busy doing things that take you away from what you planned to do, and then wonder at the end of the day why you were so busy? That was my afternoon yesterday. It began with needing to out to get coffee and bird seed.

After a few very cold days sitting, my vehicle needs a warm up. A drive to the thrift store I go. Yay me! I found a dip dish to put bird seed in (a butter crock, ceramic tiles for coasters, and a plastic covered loaf container). On the way home, I remember to stop for the coffee. Leaving there, I remember ah, the bird seed. I brought my haul inside using my plastic sled.

How was your day?

  1. I fell into cleaning my file cabinet (somewhat unexpectedly). I went to file some stuff stacked on the desk and it didn't fit! I can't believe how much old stuff was in there that didn't need to be. I'm good now for awhile!

  4. Jeanie,
    Happy Clean Out!
I found stuff this morning from 2022 in a storage ottoman. The bright side, we know what we were up to in the past.

  5. Carol,
The sled is a treasure! It is so easy to load it up and pull it inside. The melting snow is minimal. Hugs!

  6. Marie,
Remembering the next bird seed buy is easier when I leave the empty bag on the table. Even folded over, it is too large to forget why it is there. lol

    Stay warm!

I'll be shopping for silk glove liners. My fingers freeze to soon.

  7. My day was spent having coffee (and knitting) with a friend this morning and working on the landscape this afternoon. Nothing exciting I guess, but comforting all the same.

  8. Maryanne,
Spending time with a friend is a good use of time. The studies show the more we interact with others, the better our lives will be.

  9. Lately my days spent at home often look like what you describe in your second paragraph. I would do well to incorporate more of a schedule into my days. And maybe I need more purposeful outings. This last bit only occurring to me as it's finally turned too bitter for me to want to be outside for any length of time.

  10. Becki,
That afternoon was chaos for me, non stop doing and ending up wondering where the time went.

I went out on purpose. It's changing my mind once I set out that's makes a fun but busy time. lol

  11. It's so nice when we come home with a few goodies for ourselves. So glad you found some things at the thrift store. That's always a fun place to browse through. Looks like the birds have been coming around getting the bird seed. Love their little feet tracks in the snow.

  12. Sheri,
We are having below freezing temperatures. The birds have been busy throughout the day. Evidently they don't know bird seed prices have increased. lol
