Day 1139 of Week 20 May 2024

Day jumping is the theme this week as each day feels to me like tomorrow. My Friday gone Saturday brain is already waving nostalgic for cartoons and Shredded Wheat.

This week-end is bring out the summer, put away the winter clothes. Starting today feels right  because it feels like Saturday anyway.
In retirement for so many years, my mind is still in the work week rythmn. After 5 PM, the day is done. Friday is a thank goodness the week is over.

The weather report has been adding 70ºF temperatures more often. The plants and I are happy about that.

Have a Happy Weekend!

Make lemonade from lemons
Browse camp stoves online
Shop for tents
Draw a bowl of pears
Explore the history of the chair
Sing to a lamp
Tell a friend an uplifting story
Prepare for berry picking seasons
Plan picnic locations

P.S. This weekend, I began to send out Happy Mother's Day ecards!
That's week jumping! 😏

      Snow this late is awful.

  2. It's funny how the feel of different days lingers long after the routine tasks have gone away. Like school leaving a lot of people with the feeling that the year begins in September.

    1. Liz,
      September! Yes, it does linger.
That time of year I buy notebook paper, and think I need to buy new clothes and shoes. lol

      Happy Berry Picking!
There is nothing better than having berries right out in nature. In Maine, tiny strawberries longside a dirt road, had the biggest sweet strawberry flavor of any I've ever tasted.

  5. I was also going to put away the winter clothes this weekend, and bring out the Spring clothes. I had my heater on up until now, as it is still cold in the mornings and evenings, the 40's. But lately I have felt the warmth of Spring. Making homemade lemonade from scratch sounds delightful. I love anything lemon. ; ) Have a peaceful weekend.

    1. Sheri,
      A peace weekend to you

I have so far, one stack of winter clothes ready to either go to the thrift store that takes everything anytime or get packed away. It can be a hassle remembering when donations are being accepted. Plus, I like the days when you could just drop stuff off at a thrift store, and not be go through an inspection and interogation about what you are donating.

Weeding is easier after the rain, messier, but easy is good.

    1. Jeanie,
The weather radar says you are correct. Unless you are in one of those dry spots where it rains everywhere but there, there will be rain.
      Have a happy weekend anyway.

  8. Oddly, shredded wheat (gross as it was) often was on the breakfast table on Saturdays when I was a kid. My mother would pour hot water over it and maybe add a bit of brown sugar. It tasted like eating hay. I couldn't have milk on it because of my lactose issue.
I love your 'each day feels like tomorrow' statement.

    1. Maryanne,
Hot water and brown sugar sounds wonderful.
I imagine today, the shredded wheat will fit the cereal bowl with room to spare as portions nowadays are smaller than when
we were kids. A 1950 can of soup to serve 4 with a can water added is now a single serve can of soup.
