Computer Problems

It began with the Wifi connection disconnected.

Diagnostic is worthless.

Turn off modem and computer. Check with Xfinity. Wifi back on.

Seconds later, Wifi is gone. Unplug again.

Turn back on, computer will not turn on. It only beeps.

Modem is working.

Will post when able.

Update

About one and a half hours later. The system recovery program, Bitlocker Recovery, is a success. It took forever to log into Microsoft to find what is called a Recovery Key, 24 characters long! It took 3 or 4 tries to enter that code for the recovery to take place.

If you have Bitlocker Recovery, then I suggest you write down your recovery key code someplace safe.

  1. Oh my gosh, I just tried to add a friend to my blog list, and it was wonky for me. I added her blog, but her title doesn't show up, so I'll have to go back and try again later. I don't think it's just you, my friend. My power went out today also at my home. Back on again now. Computer problems, no fun. I hope you get yours fixed.

  5. Oh no! I live in fear that something goes wrong with my computer (or the tv) and I have to undertake attempting repairs on my own. RC is hopeless when it comes to that sort of thing so it will all be on me. Glad you're managing!

My first thought if the system was in need of a tech repair, it might be cheaper to buy a new one.

  8. Sorry to read about the computer glitches hanging you up for a while, but yeah to you for figuring it all out. I have never heard of Bitlocker Recovery and wonder if it is unique to Microsoft. That said, I do have a list of passwords and thankfully Apple Password Manager keeps track of them as well for us, at times, forgetful folks.

I'm old fashion, the father away I give control over things I can do computer wise, the farther away it will be
      to fix things.

    1. Jim & Barb,
Fixing the problem took entering the code over 4 times. Each time the program changed the numbers I entered. Very weird.
