Day 264 of Week 38 September 2024

From a photograph, an early morning
view of Camel Hump Mountain
from Addison, Vermont
~In progress~

The other hand has only 1 bandage.
Full Harvest Moon clumsiness

The acrylic on paper began as a background texture
for Intermediate Drawing course at UVM circa 2001.
I use it to add leftover white acrylic paint.

Quick Chickpea Stew
Brown Hamburg with diced onions
Add 1 can of chickpeas rinsed
Add 1/2 Cup water
Add greens, garlic powder, 1/4 Cup BBQ sauce,
1/4 Cup Ketchup
Simmer until greens are tender

This week I've been painting a few old canvases with the goal of finishing them for good! Meanwhile, I made the Chickpea Stew, got stabbed in the finger with a meat fork, tore out a tiny bit of skin on a thick staple sticking out of wood, awful muscle aches (fibromyalgia), and, had horrible allergy problem until today.

Overall, it has been a productive week with the bonus of good weather to enjoy!

Weather Your Weekend Well!

Bake a pear cobbler
Sing to the radio
Browse crafts online to try
Research the best body lotion to use
Design an autumn wreath
Read a good book
Shop for a good shampoo bar
Buy a pair of Halloween socks

  1. LOVE your paintings and want to see them when you say they are done, as well as WIP. It's fun to see artists' processes. Take care of those booboos!

Since reading your recent blog post, I've been thinking of apples. I think Sunday brunch will be apple pancakes. :)

      Sketching or painting is relaxing.

  7. So sorry about the owies - never fun, but glad you were able to paint. Would be interesting to know if your owies happened on the day of the full moon because so often it seems that way. When I worked in both the school and the bank we always knew when the moon was full because the crazies came out in droves.

    1. Maryanne,
My ouches happened the day before the full Moon. Close enough for me to notice it was a full Moon as I stumble on things a lot that day. lol

  8. So sorry your hurt your finger making the stew, which looks delicious, by the way. I really like that mountain painting. Reminds me of my area in winter, when things are all covered in snow. I hope your finger heals nicely.

    1. Sheri,
The cuts have healed well on one hand, and healing tender on the other. The right hand has a tiny flap of skin torn away but not off. Yuck. And it closed up too soon. A good soak will help.

  9. I am so thrilled you are painting. I have trouble with winter. You seem to just make it sing.

    1. Jeanie,
Winter in grade school meant art projects flecking white paint onto our paintings. It was the best fun of art class.

  10. "Ow! Ow!" I said aloud as I winced reading your description of cutting your finger. I do love the winter scene!

    1. Becki,
The basket had the meat fork moved around when I took out other things. I made sure it is flat in the basket now. No more fork attacks for me.
