Alarming Actions!
Federal Workers locked out of computer system
If you don’t read anything for the rest of your life, please, first read the article on the link above.
Take a moment to fully grasp what is happening.
Highly sensitive personnel information of Americans, Social Security and more stored on those computers systems is now controlled by Musk’s aides who do not have security clearance nor congressional approval. Federal workers no longer at this time have access to the computer system to know what is being done with American’s information.
That is what your vote for president is doing to America.
Please contact your elected officials to beg that this insanity stops!
Thank you
If my alarm is misguided, then please inform me why.
P.S.
After Reflection Monday I will not post about current politics because it keeps getting worse. My mental health suffers over the horrors I read about what is going on in America. Leaving twitter is a good for me along with no political posts. Thank you.
and, it just keeps getting worse! One wonders how those who voted for the AH are feeling about it now....and....it's only been two weeks.
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
DeleteMy guess is many of the people that voted for him feel very betrayed.
They should write their elected congress persons to ask for a bill that allows to exchange their vote for Harris.
I understand your concerns. I can't follow all of it because, as you mentioned, my mental health is affected too. It's a difficult balance right now to only allow in what is really necessary to know and try to keep out the rest of it. Sending a hug and some hope.

DeleteI deactivated my twitter account. It’s too difficult to not read the political posts.
It is also sad when there’s a nice group you’ve built to read.

Your alarm is not misguided. It's spot on and we all share it. And we are afraid.
ReplyDeleteJeanie,
DeleteLimiting news to 90% headline reading helps ease the stress. Also, exploring community events can be a cheer up.

Hello Maywyn,
ReplyDeleteI logged out of my Twitter account a couple of weeks ago and don't miss it a bit. Too much doom scrolling happening there. It's an ugly place.
We in Canada cannot believe what is happening between our two countries. It's dreadful. We have good American friends but Canadians are really pulling together as a nation just now. I pray that cooler heads will prevail.
Lorrie,
DeleteAn alternative to twitter is Bluesky. Thus far, most of the folks there are writers. The political posts are a lot, but more interesting.
Prayers for Canada & America
