Instead of time thinking it can’t get worse, giving ourselves things we can look forward to might help soften the impact of the next bizarre news. How we fill our background thoughts can be a comfy quilt on a chilly day.
Quilt Up!
What to look forward to
Pumpkin Cheesecake
Warm socks
Geese honking in the sky
Frost on a pumpkin
Hot coffee on a foggy morning
The scent of Autumn Leaves
Colorful foliage in the mountains

This is a lovely post. I have recently taken the time for self-care things-somehow I had never done that before. No wonder stress just followed me where ever I went! It's interesting though, that I have to be intentional to actually DO those things, instead of just giving in to the stress of the day. I hope you are well, and I wish you a lovely Fall!
ReplyDeleteDebra,
DeletePrayers your autumn is spectacular.
Pushing to be good to yourself, outside of comfort foods, takes energy.

Happy Autumn, Sheri!
DeleteWe're heading out for a couple day trip tomorrow and I'm hopeful the trees will still be pretty. I'll be concentrating on driving but at least the RC should enjoy the views.
