| A jar of food coloring in water adds light to a decorative lantern |
Farewell to November this Sunday increases the energy of a New Year approaching. What will 2026 bring? Not keen on resolutions, but I have thoughts.
Many people, I believe, not just Americans, need relief from current events’ turmoil. Absorbing the positive vibe of possibilities from a new year need not be wasted because there is so much going on to feel bad about.
A family tradition we started decades ago, is to not argue during the holidays. It is not as easy as it may sound. The atmosphere created by that mind set makes the air feel lighter and positive.
Have a Hygee Weekend
Mix a mulled cider recipe
Browse waterproof wind pants online
Sing into a big bowl
Decoupage a tray
Bake chicken Parmesan
Draw a pinecone
Read about sleighs

That's a wonderful tradition! I hope you had a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteJeanie,
DeleteHappy Holidays to You & Yours!
Relaxing day yesterday and another today. The chaos begins when the ornament bins are opened. 🤣

I think your family tradition is perfect! It must relieve stress knowing that one will not face arguments over the holidays!
ReplyDeleteMarie,
DeleteIt is also a fun tradition. I still feel the sting of being shut down once by a younger
one. 🤣

I think the tradition of no arguments over the holidays is one we all should adopt. It's such a high stress time of year and so easy to fall into the trap of bad feelings.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the coloured water in a lantern - I have a lantern and I'm sure I can find a jar to fit.
Maryanne,
DeleteI used 2 drops of yellow and 1 drop of red in a small instant coffee jar.
Back in the 1960s, colored water in glass jars was a decorating thing. They are a type of witches ball.

Relief from current events would be a lot of help.
ReplyDeleteWilliam,
DeleteAmen to that!
