At it again, I’m back to the easel soon with a changed attitude. A few weeks ago I had a cataract removal procedure done on one eye. Light changes, becomes brighter when cataracts are removed. Think filter gone.
No kidding, I grab my underwear out of the drawer, and thought they must have been mingled with something left in the washer (shared laundry room). I look, no, they are really mine. What a nice color.
What about my artwork? How will mixing colors work?
I don’t know if my paintings will change beyond seeing clearer colors.
At the Dead Creek visitor center lane, there is an area where you can see the mountains clear of trees in the foreground. I drove too far into those trees for the view I wanted. I have other pictures with the mountain view. The road image, I think it is meant to be a painting.

That first look into the distance after cataract surgery was momentous. I will never forget the experience.
ReplyDeleteMarie,
DeleteThat’s amazing to remember.
I will make a point when the other eye is done to look at the mountains.

how wonderful...to see the world, color and your paintings in a new light!!
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
DeleteIt’s like the days of penny candy with my first very own dollar.

I'm glad your cataract surgery was successful. I imagine the change in light happens so gradually that it's unnoticeable until the cataract is removed, then Wow!
ReplyDeleteLorrie,
DeleteThe change in light is a unique experience.

I was hoping I'd see brighter colors after my cataracts were done but I didn't. I guess they were bright enough before (I never noticed otherwise). But that would be so cool!
ReplyDeleteJeanie,
DeleteThe older the cataracts are, I think, the more pronounced the light change will be. Best to have them removed when the doctor says so though. For that one eye, the referral to the surgeon was a year or more late.

That view will make an excellent painting. Seeing a road like that always makes me wonder just what's beyond the horizon.
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
DeleteAs a painting, it will be fun to paint.
