Every year during the December holidays, I have to have a whiff of a real natural Christmas tree to feel the holiday spirit. See a fresh balsam fir wreath on a door, I’d nearly smash my face into it to breathe in the aroma. I’d rather not be tethered to that memory because without the experience whiff, I feel that I’m missing something lovely.
This year, I am leaving out the faux holly garland and the bottle brush trees because the happiness they represent, don’t need to be caged into one season. Instead of pining away via old memories, I can use them to enhance adjusting my life style with less hesitation.
What and how to adjust is a brainstormer’s (like me) dream.
- I’d can start with discovering why after eating the last marshmallow, I wonder where the last marshmallow went to. 😎
- Research why do the cardinals sit in that one tree before flying over to the birdseed? Metaphorically, do I have a tree?
- Is watching videos of a person cooking over a glowing campfire a good investment of my time?
- Should I write about the phenomena, despite being the same sound of air release when a soda and a beer can open, the beer sounds better?*
Simple easy thoughts explored can enhance my outlook on life as I live it. The distraction from the sorrow pit of depression is helpful, and rather fun.
*If by chance, blind folded, I say the soda can sounds better, then that’s just evidence that a good person can make a mistake. 😎

Good for you in leaving out things that make you happy regardless of the holiday or season. We are not allowed to have real trees for Christmas so we added pine scented sticks to our un-real tree, not quite the same, but passable for a while. We also light line scented candles all season.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice,
DeleteScenting with pine is a good substitute for a real tree.
Covid 2022 vaccine knocked out my sense of smell, but I can detect a slight pine scent. I’ll have a sniff- fest at a candle display to find the strongest pine scent. 😂
Thank you

Love the last one and your comment!
ReplyDeleteThank you Marie
DeleteLight hearted fun, but no light beer makes life comfy.

I would want to leave those bottle trees out too because they simply look like winter and not specific to Christmas alone. As for videos about cooking over a campfire - I would like watching the fire and not care much for the cooking aspect. There's something mesmerizing about a campfire.
ReplyDeletenow I don't know if I clicked on the 'who I am' button over the last comment, so if you get one referencing the bottle trees and campfires, it was me.
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
DeleteIt is you showing up like before the glitch. Yay! 👏🥳
The campfire is the star of the show. At the end, I watch like a hawk when they make sure the fire is out. Some creators make a point to show that. Others don’t. They don’t get to grasp the key safety points builds confidence in their channel.

Things that make you calm or unstressed or happy or give you peace or joy are never a waste of your time!
ReplyDeleteJeanie,
DeleteGood point!
Maybe I can rent a half hour by somebody ‘s campfire this spring. 😂
