There are some massive icicles hanging off roofs lately.
The cold temperatures make being indoors an entertainment challenge.
On YouTube, there are channels that run videos of fireplaces and rooms with fireplaces that run for hours.I find it comforting when I sit in my recliner, to have videos like that on my television providing a homey background ambiance. Music is also soothing. Radio talk shows and podcasts are another entertainment source.
This week is a slow blog week for me as I tend to the bag of shredding last week’s sorting created. Also on my to do list are sewing, craft projects, painting, culling books to get out the door, and maybe making some Valentine’s cards.
I have been watching YouTube videos of people showing how to survive if stranded in the woods. I find them fascinating! I hope I never have to use those skills. lol.

There’s a lot to learn there. Imagine highway stranded in a snow storm. You could get out, go into the woods snd come out making warm up campfire stations. Funny but true.

I'm laying as low as possible, though yesterday I really enjoyed going to a play and out to dinner with friends. Other than that, it's inside, Olympics, books and such!

I have 6" of snow sitting on my sewing room windowsill right now - blown there in the last snowfall. It's too cold for it to melt away. At least the sun has taken care of some of the icicles hanging from the balcony above us.

Yes, it IS definitely cold enough for me and I have seen icicles that outdid these and would have taken a photo but (1) my hands were cold and (2) I didn't want to risk one falling on me! I haven't seen the YouTube videos you mentioned, May. I have returned to podcast listening after a lengthy absence and would recommend the one by the Smithsonian.

wow, those are some long sharp icicles! Be careful when around them. They seem to accumulate under the eaves of my house, and every time I come from the back door, I have to watch out for them. Good for you for the continuing of sorting and organizing. It's not an easy job....but well worth it.

DeleteI forget where that I saw a group of icicles in the snow that are at least 4 feet high and very thick. One would kill if it landed on a person. Very scary.
