Day 66 of Week 10 March 2026

The sound of wind when it rains is not the same when it snows. Wind and rain make more noise. The vent cover outlet rattling
is louder, more determined.

Snow is softer than rain. Strange to think about the rain, snow and wind sound relationships. What else in nature is there that we don’t think about?

Have a Thinking Weekend

Have baked apples with vanilla
or maple walnut ice cream
Read about Earth’s water cycle
Watch a funny movie
Browse raincoats online
Draw a fancy umbrella
Dance when you wash your hands

  1. We had a thunderstorm last night and yes the wind was stronger...even eerie. Janice

    1. Janice,
Eerie is a good description. After all the soft winter wind, the wind with rain is eerie.
There are very strong gusts out there today.

  2. I'm thinking about rain a lot because I have two inches of water in my basement, thanks to last night's downpour!

    1. Jeanie,
Wow! That’s a lot of rain. The weather radar last night showed a really wide area.
I hope nothing is damaged. Sump pump might need work.

  3. I love the sound of the wind and rain but not when snow is involved. It's nice to lie in bed and hear the rain, but now we have a rather noisy air purifier in our bedroom I can't hear the rain anymore. At least the purifier serves as white noise which is *supposed* to be a sleep aid.

    1. Maryanne,
An air purifier is a good thing to have. It’s amazing how much better breathing can be using one.
The only drawback is the filters need cleaning or changing so often.

Rain in moderation with a smidgen of sugar snow will be nice.
