Unpausing early

This is the first day since my week of stress that I feel some positive energy. An empath takes longer to recover from stress. Being good to yourself by accepting that, is a healthy move.

Boredom sent me back to Instagram.* The algorithm, I suspect, has a fondness for injustice outrage leaning videos because if I click a heart in support or click on one, they all show up like seagulls when somebody drops a french fry.

Spring hit peak about a week ago. Trees here in this area of Vermont are full of green except trees that leaf-up later when temperatures are steadily warmer. Lilacs will soon be blooming. The pansies are loving the rain and cool weather.

I’ve been puttering, doing small projects and hand sewing summer pajama hems. If pj winter pants are old, I cut and hem them for summer use. Same goes for some jeans.

* I Deleted my fun Instagram account, again. My main account, (not used to scroll reels) I keep.

  1. Spring sounds wonderful there in Vermont. We've had some cooler weather too this last weekend and today. That's a good idea to cut and hem the old pj pants for summer. I sometimes do that with my jeans. The purple flowers are so pretty. Yes, be good to yourself. : ) We must do that and even treat ourselves from time to time. ; )

    1. Sheri,
Hot this week in my backyard.
Folks are getting warnings that Lake Champlain water temperature is still dangerous for hypothermia if you fall in. The ambient heat can be deceiving.

    1. Bill,
The forecast temperature for today is even higher. I suspect the clouds won’t let that happen.

  4. Am I understanding correctly, that Vermont reached 90 degrees (is that today or yesterday)? We're supposed to be heating up into the 80's for a few days, and then will hopefully get to enjoy a few more cooler days later in the week before what I expect will be summer weather again by the end of the month.

That's quite a word picture to depict IG's algorithm. lol

    1. Becki,
In my yard, the 92°F happened Monday afternoon, 18 May. Elsewhere in Vermont temps hit in the nineties but, mostly high eighties. It will be cooler after today.
Thank you, but the gulls and French fry is not original to me. It is a popular description of a real event. A gull crapped on my car recently reminds me if them. 🤣

  6. Hope all is well. I hate Facebook and Instagram. You do look at something and more things pop in. Even on Pinterest. The Lilacs are just starting to bloom here in Michigan. Janice

    1. Janice,
The lilacs here are blooming as well. It feels as if they bloomed over night.

  7. Barb and I were just talking about Vermont the other day as we were talking about places we could see ourselves living if we ever decided to move. Hope you continue to have a stress-free week!

    1. Thank you Jim and Barb
So far the week has been a mellow one.
At my advanced age, Vermont’s good elderly care keeps me here. And. You can’t go far without seeing a field or silo. First hay cut is going on today! There’s farm machinery everywhere. Y’all would fit right in here.

    1. Jeanie,
Thank you. I was feeling better until I opened today’s mail to another mistake issue that needs my attention. Then I told myself no fretting over it today, and stuffed the envelope under sofa cushion. 🤣
That was a quick mood booster.

Spring in New England and Upstate New York now has flowering trees blooming everywhere. We are fortunate here to have such beauty around us.

  10. I always love this time of year for the myriad of greens in the new growth and actually think it's prettier than the fall colours in many ways. We had a couple days of really warm weather and now it's back to 8C and raining. At least it's not snow so I shouldn't complain.
