Muggy city days are upon us

Heat is exhausting. I went outdoors briefly this morning. The air feels thick. It is muggy city out there.

If you are elderly or of frail health, and can tolerate air conditioning, then consider having it installed. Please, don’t underestimate the impact heat has on your health.

Last night thunderstorms rolled by. The sky in the south lit up bright white. I shut off the TV to create a sort of 1950s vibe. I’m hoping this Summer is a Summer’s Summer with heat, thunderstorms, beach and picnic days galore.

Yesterday I visited Lowe’s in South Burlington. Wow to their gardening section! It is full of gorgeously healthy plants. The annuals are a good price as well.

Petunias

  1. We purchased our shrubs this year from Lowes and we were very happy. Very hot here too. Janice

    1. Janice,
Of all the garden centers I stop at, Lowes seems to have the most stock. Alas, gone are the days of buying a whole flat of annuals.

  2. I love the quiet inside with nothing going. That said, I'm so in to start painting a wall and may boogie to some music as I go. Wishing you a fun, cool, relaxing weekend. Cheers, lvy

  3. Did you get wind and tornadoes too? That's what we had last night. It was a little creepy. A lot creepy! But no touchdowns here.

    1. Jeanie,
I’m not sure about wind because I didn’t watch the weather report.
There has been creepy high winds here recently though.

  6. I put our a/c unit on more often than I would if it were just myself but the RC really feels the heat and he's at the age where it can be dangerous for him.

    1. Maryanne,
Heat can be brutal on one’s health. I’m glad you have A/C, and your RC.
