The Catalyst of Turmoil

In the measure of things, when turmoil blankets life, I believe, it can be a catalyst for change.  Change to take the overwhelming too much, and get out from under it by lifting yourself up.

Starting out easy on yourself at a reasonable pace. Focus on endeavors that can bring you success, even when you don’t win every time.

I’m searching for blogs and vlogs/channels to balance my main interests with my reading and viewing time. So far, the inspiration is rewarding.

Writing is back on my agenda. Gentle Scary Stories is a public blog again. There will be weekly installments of short stories as well as commentary about my writing process.

Gentle Scary Stories

At present, a story I began years ago has the first part posted. It is based on a true event that I experienced. As it is often said about writing, write about what you know.

  1. Sometimes we just have to stop. Do nothing. And then something bubbles up. But doing nothing can sometimes be very hard! You've got this. You really do. (Love the sparrow!)

      Jeanie,
Doing nothing, let’s things settle with minimal involvement. The silence
      can be calming.

  2. A really good post. And the photo is lovely. Reminds me that He sees even a sparrow-it is hard to keep a focus off the world situation and back to what is really real. I know what you mean about doing things that help your brain. And it truly does help.

      Debra,
There are brain games on the Internet that are helpful. Sadly, they are becoming so over run with ads, it isn’t worth the hassle. Jigsaw Explorer, thankfully, doesn’t have that problem..

  4. Sometimes just sitting back and doing nothing is the best thing to do. Lately, I have been finding that trying to keep up with reading daily blog posts of so many other bloggers can be exhausting in terms of time, so I am limiting myself to once a week reads. I also need to make more time for myself and often forget to do that.

      Beatrice,
Reading blogs, I think, is easier when done a few at a time spread over a day or two.
It helps me not be overwhelmed when many bloggers post about the same time.

  5. I sometimes wish I could sit and do nothing but it's not in my genes. If I sit still for longer than ten minutes I get antsy. Maybe I have a touch of ADHD but have never been tested.
