Day 297 of Week 43 October 2025

Hello to the last weekend of October 2025. Can you believe we are already at the door of November? It is wild! I'm happier about November than I was about October.

The first couple of weeks of the 10th month, I was not feeling well. News, Allergies and digestive issues put me in a slump of blahs. I kept going as tasks piled up, stuff went undone, missed opportunities blurred like a bird in the corner of my eye flying by the window. That was only a week ago, but it feels like a year ago.

Age is not the issue. Young people can have slumps of blahs as well.

For all ages, I believe, that eating right and exercise are the keys to the city of better health.

I do calisthenics along with a few other exercises, (when I remember to do them). This morning, I discovered the reason I have lower back strain so often is that I hold too long/tighten muscles before the release. Duh on me.

In winter, being smart, lotion is my friend. Dry elbows bug me. They have to be smooth and well cared for. If I was on a blind date and saw a crackly old ashy elbow, then I would have to make an excuse to leave. It wouldn't really be a lie because gagging would be an issue.

🐦🐻🍁

Last week I put out a small amount of bird seed. My deck is a bird's food source. As soon as the temperatures drop, the birds are there looking around. I wait until a hard frost or few just in case there are bears roaming around.

What’s been going on?
Stuff mostly.

A recent purchase of an over the door rack is the reason I’m rearranging my storage areas. The galley kitchen is too small to store can goods that close to an oven. Thus, out of the bottom cabinet and on the pantry shelves they go.
The door rack is where spices, cereal, teas and light things will be placed.
That frees up overhead cabinet space for soup bowls and such. So now, instead of moving left to right, I can twirl around to get my favorite little fruit bowl. Also, the bottom cabinet now provides pans a new home that’s off the stove and counters.

The whole process highlights for me how very important good organization is to having a healthy interior environment.

A word about low fat foods.
Low-fat cottage cheese is horrible! With my limited sense of taste, due to covid 2022 booster, I treasure the few flavor levels I can enjoy. I dislike even more the flavors that are horrid.
I feel the same about most low-fat foods as well as light beer.

What else? Oh, Instagram has become the babysitter to my bored-self. I spend too much time crying and laughing as I scroll through a tremendous variety of video shorts.

Let me just say that bravado is in vogue. It can be healing, but too much can cause you tell feel a lot of it is hokey.

Art. Being busy with moving things around, I’ve been falling asleep for some righteously good naps instead of painting. Now that I’ve finally repotted the pothos and English ivy, the table can be clear for creative endeavors.

How is your September going?

August Is August

Guess what tomorrow is!?
My return to regular posting on the 15th is scheduled to appear at midnight.

The week flew by!
Great news though, a major stress/anxiety surge is over. I napped away the emotional exhaustion when I returned home from the DMV after renewing my driver’s license.
What a wimp I was taking a week plus to just get there after I realized I had to go in person for a new photograph. Appointments are rough for me to get to despite efforts to make it easier.

Note to locals:
There is No Middlebury DMV office.
It closed years ago.
The website dmv.gov giving information is wrong.

At a 9 AM arrival, South Burlington DMV: the parking was easy, the wait less than 2 hours, and clerks were pleasant and helpful.

Otherwise, I’ve been nowhere and done much of nothing but putter, water flowers, and write plans for my YouTube channel (to debut at the end of September 2025).

There is a lot of reading to do on YouTube policies and that’s in addition to researching how to set up a vlog channel.
The scope is wider than I anticipated. Thankfully, my 17 years of blogging and about 25 being online does help, especially understanding the importance of marketing.

How is your summer going? Do you vlog? Use Instagram?
