Social Media Travels

Snowy April Day in Vermont

My travels on social media overall, have been interesting in many ways.

There appears to be pockets, like when the wind blows a bunch of leaves into a corner, of folks who have a passion of some sort, positive and negative. Finding a regular person with no particular agenda or self image issues, is not easy. I found, I think (so far) two or three folks that are interesting to read.

The websites seem to have a problem with figuring out how to group members. X aka Twitter has a good spread of different folks. Instagram, on a rarely used account, must think my ID means I'm a dude so that on Explore, shows way too many photos of young women in bikinis. (I deleted that account.) YouTube and Facebook also lump folks into categories that may not reflect who the person is.

I have found more older folks postings. That is a nice change.

For humor, Tops are the Deer Blind Dad Jokes, (USA) and Mike and Joelle (New Zealand).

What strikes Your Fancy?

Sometimes, something will strike your fancy. You don't need to figure out why or understand anything other than you like what you see.

For creative types, our fancy is always open for a new experience.

I have the feeling that the photo posted here is one of those mysterious sights that strikes my fancy.

I don't need to know why. Yet, I have been analyzing how the reflection on my patio window of me sitting under my chair umbrella, intrigues me.

I can't see myself even though I know I am there.

Crumbs

Perfecting the a skill of dinning away from a conventional table requires learning how to manage crumbs.

Whether you are on the sofa, chair or bed with the food on a dish. paper towel, napkin or bare hand, crumb behavior will be the same.  The biggest difference happens during the lift to mouth action. That is when crumbs come to life, fly and fall everywhere.

The star of the show is the big crumb you happen to see briefly just as it falls. Confident it is large enough to find, you finish the bite before picking it off your sweather, shirt or pajama top. Only when you look, it is gone! Pressed by fabric into smaller crumbs.

After finishing your food, you go to the sink holding up the hem of your clothes to pocket the crumbs. At the sink, you shake them out.

The whole ritual puzzles me why we don't perfect eating over the sink.
