Photograph of February 2023
Lichen in February |
The more I try to find a photograph I like, the more I realize the photo has to discover me.
Drawn to vibrant mid tone colors, I find shape has less power over what I like in a picture. I then question how I feel about color, the emotion, versus composition, the all of it. Searching color online, I plop down on the intrigue of the Munsell Color System. In Wikipedia, I see the unfamiliar word, colorimetry. And so it goes...
All I wanted is a favorite February photograph.

The thin ice coating adds value.
Sometimes I like to brighten up nature photos, but most of the time, they will stay as nature is, true and unfettered. Although, this photo is simply beautiful, I must say.

ReplyDeleteIt makes a nice lock screen photo.
Love this photo. Your "the photo has to discover me" makes me think... I often look back through my photos (arranged by month) and see things I didn't notice the first time around. And I wonder why I never got around to posting them. Since I save them by month, if they are seasonal photos, I guess I can look through them any year and post them in a month they are appropriate for. I've noticed you sometimes post older photos and caption them thus. I like that idea.
ReplyDeleteBecki,
ReplyDeleteOld photos can make nice calendars.
