March 2023: Day 81 of Week 12

My, 2009
9" x 22" ink & watercolor drawing

A bonus of Spring cleaning is the rediscovery of things one might have forgotten. Memories can resurface as well.
However, the above doodle drawing produces no memory of what was going on in 2009. I might have been watching television, sitting outdoors, waiting for laundry to finish or drawing for the love of it.

Doodling has a quiet comfortably alone vibe. It is relaxing, mind cleansing and a mental stretching that opens think muscle. Anyone can doodle. Think of it as visual meditation.

Do you regularly doodle? Zentangle? Draw?

  2. Marie,
Lol. It took me a second.
    I wish everyone doodle.

  3. Well, your doodling is artistic, that's for sure. I don't have any drawing or painting talent, so it's nice to see that someone does. Yes, it's nice to come across things we forgot about when we do some Spring cleaning. Have a pleasant rest of the week.

  4. I doodle when I'm talking on the phone but none of it is recognizable as being anything. I did try zentangling for awhile but my perfectionism meant I was rarely happy with what I did. My drawing is limited to needle and thread.

  6. Sheri,
Practicing can improve skill. Doodling is the freedom to not do well, and have fun.
I believe if a person feels something they see or sense is beautiful, then they know art.

  7. Maryanne,
Your quilting work is gorgeous art!

I tried zentangling as well. It wasn't comfortable to me on some level, fun, but not a lot.

Adding a doodle session to morning exercise may be a nice way to make exercising less boring.

  12. It's a fun and colorful doodle. My doodles are nowhere near that clever. I've been Zentangling (or at least trying my hand at it). It's kind of fun. Hmmmm... I should share them maybe? A couple of them need doctoring. Maybe I'll share them soon. :)

  13. Becki,
I hope you do post pictures of your artwork.

  14. Love your watercolor. I've been drawing more since I started Sketchbook Revival, trying to get in all the workshops before they go offline April 20. They speak often about daily sketchbook work, even if a doodle or fast sketch. So, trying to do that. It's fun.

Been reading allyour posts to catch up -- just commenting on a couple but love your plant!

  15. Jeanie,
It can take time to catch up on blog reading. There are times when it is amazing to find how many days have gone by without reading a blog.
Good to see you post whenever you have time.
