Have You Lost a Pen Without Moving From Your Chair?

If the answer is yes, then you might benefit from shopping when pens are on sale. I know that I seem to buy more pens than I use. It's weird.

I hand write every day without fail. I journal, make lists, scribble down ideas, write down tidbits of information and such. I use pens regularly. My pens have their own pen-stations, near my favorite chair, on my desk, and in my purse. The drawing pens are in a case, in a bin drawer or near my chair stash (photo).

I buy handwriting pens in packs. I also seem to lose pens in packs. You'd think that when I stand up, there's pens falling all over the place, but there isn't. Have I found pens in the laundry? Yes, but not as often as I lose them.

Could it be like many other products sold in America, that pens are running out sooner because they are filled with less ink so you buy more? Or am I writing more? Maybe I'm just not a tidy pen person.

  1. Oh, now that's a thought. Remember when a half-gallon of ice cream was really a half-gallon of ice cream. Now the container looks close, costs more, and has less! I love pens. I have my art pens and then other pens. I shouldn't buy one more. But I know I will.

  2. Hah - I lose pens, scissors, knitting needles, stitch holders - you name it, I can put it down and without fail it disappears. I'm sure, if I took apart my chair in the living room, I would find gold in there!

  3. Jeanie,
Oh yes to that ice cream tragedy.
The same thing happened to a pound of coffee. The can is no longer a pound.
Art pens, I only buy the waterproof now so I don't have to tape off which is which. I don't like ruining a drawing with runny not waterproof ink. MMy next goal is to try watercolor pens.

  4. Maryanne,
You have magic skills there. That's a lot of stuff to disappear in one spot.
I put needles through the knee of my jeans. If I move, then I know where it is. Not the brightest idea, but it works for me. :)

  5. just like many products we are buying, you think the quantity is the same but it's not. the price goes up a little and you are getting much less. i am sure that is the case with pens, less ink!! the price of cereal went up but the boxes are much thinner. the same with ice cream as jeanie has said!!

  6. Debbie,
Good point! Cereal boxes do feel thinner.
I wonder what else I notice that doesn't register as less for more money for groceries.

  7. You're right, pens seem to come and go so quickly. One of mine was running ink, so had to toss it. And the others are starting to fade, so it's time for more. That's an interesting thought that they may be filled with less ink. I guess they just don't make them like they used to. ; )
