I've posted landscapes of Farquaharson's in the past.
His realism paintings capture winter's warmth beautifully.
I'm not at all familiar with him. His paintings are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteJeanie,
ReplyDeleteHe does soothing very well in his landscapes.
Farquharson's paintings are very much of his time and part of the Scottish scene. I like them very much.
ReplyDeleteGraham,
ReplyDeleteFarquhanson is a great artist. I think he deserves more recognition in the general art world. Instead, we see a lot of old European masters as if they are the only ones worth noting.
I was also not familiar with the artist Joseph Farquharson or any of his paintings. Thank you for sharing these images on your blog and also for the link which I followed to learn more about his art and career. The sunset colors are amazingly beautiful and the attention to details even more so.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice,
ReplyDeleteWikiart.org has a good search feature to find artists. That's how I found Farquhanson.
It is funny when I do see art I am always drawn to the winter scenes.

Such wonderful winter scenes, full of light, yet the coldness of snow comes through, too. Magic.
ReplyDeleteCathy, Same here, I also gravitate towards sunrises and autumn. Winter, at one time, was the majority of my art.
ReplyDeleteLorrie,
ReplyDeleteThey are magical winter scenes.
He has other paintings with similar light.
He made the snow look positively toasty! Best wishes.

ReplyDeleteFarquhanson's use of color is what draws me to his artwork.
Wow - those images are stunning! How I would love to be able to recreate those wonderful skies in fabric.
