Still Around, Heat Wave & Summer Skies

I am still around. Being online is not a happy use of my time as this old laptop is really slow, and, the screen is small.

On the old laptop and my cell phone, for some reason, Google settings prevent me from leaving comments and replies as me. Instead, I am anonymous. The Hewett Packard All In One (AIO) PC needs to be fixed. Meanwhile, a new backup system will make life much easier for me.

What's going on. There's been an increase in spam cell phone calls. I learned that there is now a 00, Zero alcohol Heineken fake beer. (Too later to exchange) I didn't notice because i lost my sense of taste after the 2022 covid booster.

I felt like such the auto mechanic this morning putting air in my tires, getting gas, and washing the windshields. I didn't note the hour or else I wouldn't have been out and about at 7:30 AM EDT. I had a strong feeling...What am I doing out here this early!?

At home, puttered and during a rest, I dozed off until nearly 1 PM! I must not have slept much after watching the Tony Awards last night. Great show, by the way. All the years I lived across the Hudson River from NYC, I have never seen a Broadway play.

This week in the Northeast USA, a heat wave is in the forecast. Read up on safety tips, and check on vulnerable folks you know. Keep Hydrated!

Thankfully, I remembered to get clips to put the tarp (as a sun shade) up over the concrete deck. It is a struggle to tie it up each day. Clips make it easy. I will post photos once I remember how to upload them to the laptop.

Photography is back on the agenda to learn more. A weekly photo excursion on foot is the plan. I've said it before, one day I will put together my own cloud photo file. That's the plan again because summer skies are dramatic and changing.

Allergies are still a bother this late in the season. Trees are blooming that have those big fluffy white flowers.

It is weird going from a large screen back to a small screen. I feel like an orphan out here.

    1. Marie,
The heat began here today at a 90ºF.
The humidity is what saps me.

  5. Typing on a small screen is frustrating so I try to avoid doing it on the tablet, plus I always make so many typing errors (more than the usual). Hopefully, your larger PC can be repaired or perhaps replaced in time? The drop in computer prices from when I bought my first one is amazing, like the large TVs.

The hot weather is here in Nashua, NH as well, about 95 as of this afternoon and due to increase in the next couple of days. Staying indoors and hydrating is the best antidote. Your suggestion to check up on folks is a very good one.

Learning more about the art of photo taking is in my plans as well and I have started watching some YouTube videos, some very good others not so good, but FREE is a good thing, always.

I'm looking for a laptop I can connect to a monitor via HDMI port and using a mouse and keyboard.
      Bet Buy has good deals.

  6. That is a good idea to have a "clouds" file. I've always thought they were fascinating, and often see images in the clouds. Sorry you're having computer problems. Good for you for putting air in your tires, getting gas, and washing the windshields. I've known women who never learn these things, and when their spouse passes, they don't even know how to balance a check book. Sometimes when we have a long nap during the day, our body needs that extra rest. It will be nice to go on weekly photo excursions. I love your weekly photos.

Have a good rest of the week.

    1. Janice,
I think spam callers just go down a list of numbers. They don't need personal information. In the old days, that''s what they did using a phone book. However, my spam emails and calls increase when I registered on a website.
      Stay cool!

  8. I hope you manage to get the HP fixed. Like you I have problems when I only have my phone because I can read blogs but not leave comments because signing in each time a comment needs to be made just isn't practical.

The Blogger glitches are so old, it boggles the mind why the problems haven't been fixed.

  9. We're part of the heatwave, too. I'm behind reading so happy you're not posting every day. I can never catch up after a few days away! I don't answer calls I don't know unless I'm expecting a call from a number that might not be in my directory (a doc referral, usually). They can leave a message if it's important!

    1. Jeanie,
Catching up on blog reading, I now start from the most recent, those that most often leave comments, and then the rest.

  10. I'm spending less time online, because I don't think all the sitting is great for me. It means I am slower to comment on blogs and also write fewer posts, although I do want to maintain a blog presence.
