Autumn's Healing Beauty
Vermont 2020 |
Imagine the number of leaf peepers multiplied by the number of times they gasp in awe of the beauty of Autumn foliage. New England, and Vermont (where the photographs were taken in past years), has a unique foliage beauty due to the climate of the area.

Psychology Today, "The Healing Power of Nature"Ideas for fall fun:
- Create a leaf atlas. Photograph, identify, paint a watercolor of various trees and their leaves. Note the location and date.
- List local diners in your area within 50 to 75 miles. Photograph and note what's on the menu, including prices.
- Make a photo album journal of the places where you like to stop, roadside farm stands, fall festivals, country stores and such.
- Journal about your walks and hikes during the autumn
- Find a large maple tree you can sit under. Invite family and friends for a foggy morning coffee and pumpkin bread. Listen to the birds, the wind, Nature.
We want have weather that feels like Fall for awhile but I sure love the photos to the leaves changing color!
ReplyDeleteDiane,
ReplyDeleteIn Vermont's Northeast Kingdome, foliage colors are being reported. The higher elevations start first. Down here where I live, there is a blush of color beginning.
I always love the foliage season. The trees show off all their beautiful colours. It's so pretty to see.
ReplyDeleteBill,
DeleteThis year in Vermont, there appears to be no major rain storms to wash the colors away.
A walk among that colour would be good for the spirit.
ReplyDeleteMarie,
DeleteWalking in the autumn woods fills you up with magic.
These Autumn photos are just dazzling with color! I love that shaded walkway with the trees. It looks so peaceful. That second picture is just beautiful. I love your last suggestion. There's nothing like a foggy morning, morning coffee, and pumpkin bread. And I often listen to the birds and spend time in nature. It is what grounds me in this ever changing world.
ReplyDeleteWishing you wonderful October days.

DeleteI am hoping this year is as colorful as 2020.
The reports say that the foliage is going to be good.
The colors are spectacular. I remember when I was growing up we collected leaves for all kinds of projects.
ReplyDeleteJudee,
DeleteIn grade school, autumn leaf art projects were the best.
Happy October!
The New England colors will reportedly be quite spectacular this autumn. We re hoping that the nearby park will still have bursts of color when we return home from our travels next week. For myself, fall is the most wonderful season.🍂🍁
ReplyDeleteBeatrice,
DeleteI hope you see lots of color! The warmer the temperatures, the slower the foliage changes.
Happy October to you both!
Reading what you said about creating a leaf atlas reminded me of when our oldest son took a horticulture class in school. One of the assignments was to collect and identify leaves and do a written report. For some reason he latched onto that and had us driving him all over so he could find new leaves. He presented the teacher with a huge binder filled with pressed leaves and descriptions. The teacher was overwhelmed and said it was the most extensive collection he had ever seen.
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
DeleteI hope he saved his leaf atlas. That is a family treasure for sure.
