Day 292 of Week 42 October 2024

An Autumn Maple Leaf

A Rambling today

This week has been all about moving furniture, stuff and memories. Each area I sort has the past rising up like sugar dust when the bag is empty. The best is finding artwork. Those memories are the strongest. My poems, prose and stories are next except with those, there are some I read with no recollection of the original idea. There are a few rare ones I don't remember writing.

What does all that bring me? I've been pondering that question when I look around the room without seeing the clutter. Freedom, I guess, is what has been brought to my life. However, being organized is mentally healthy only to a point. There is the stage where clutter is comforting.

🍁

On the news scene, I'm unhappy as well as worried that online folks think it is more important to make fun of the 34felon that to praise Kamala Harris.  I believe that is a stupid waste of time to want laughs over helping America stop 34felon from being elected.

Please, post good things about Harris!

Vote Harris Walz

What else? Oh, the NOAA 2024-2025 winter forecast is for a warmer and wetter winter in the Northeastern United States. That is for me a trip to anxiety city because it means there will be conditions that create ice. I am not a fan of icy winters.

Have a Fun Weekend!

Enjoy a big mug of hot chocolate
Take a walk with friends
Read a good book
Create a soup recipe
Sing to the television
Shop striped sweaters online
Write a scary short story
Knit a winter hat
Tell a pumpkin all your woes
Pray for America

  1. I completely agree about being positive about Harris. Insisting on referring to tfg even insultingly, is raising his profile. No. Also even when you're talking about such a person, it's not appropriate to be ageist and ableist.

  2. Liz,
Weird behavior to get your name on people's minds is a trick that works for him. His poll ratings went up.

  3. When I see the autumn leaves, I always think of the crunch they make after you step on them. Not a fan of ice either, glad we hardly ever have any.

    1. Carol,
Scary is just the beginning. There's a real possibility he will win.

  5. Being organized and clutter-free is good, but as you've said, a little clutter is comforting. Or maybe it's being surrounded by things we love that is comforting. Today is a wet one here - good for staying indoors.

    1. Lorrie,
The weather forecast this next week here is to be in the 70sΒΊF.
The end of leaf peeping having such good weather is a real treat because as this lower elevation, there's still color to see.

  6. You have inspired me to sort and clean out the bedroom closet. This will be fun! Not!
