What’s been going on catch up

Under the chin?

Fess up. Are you a must knock on wood fan? Do you avoid stepping on cracks in the sidewalk? What about spilling the salt? Under a ladder? The indoors open umbrella? The black cat walking?

I think of superstitions as silly fun, a social element of togetherness. I don’t think of them as evil or an indication of lack of faith. Prayer is my primary life guidance. Putting my faith in God rules.

A recent health condition flare up slows things down for me. I stress out worrying if this the beginning of my elderly decline. I’ve had two flare ups years ago. Careful what I eat is a struggle to balance stress and eating right.
Managing a treatment plan with one’s health conditions is an even larger struggle. I try, but when it gets to the point things are not getting better, then it is time to see a doctor.
The treatment menu made me feel so sick, I ate! A can of tuna. Within minutes I felt better. I will be in better health to deal with the discomfort the food might cause.

The point is that we know our bodies better than anyone else. We may not have the knowledge depth medically trained people do, conditions, treatments and such, but we know us. I think there are times when we forget that as well as how all of us works when facing issues, conditions, illnesses that life throws at us.

Paying attention to our health can prevent  situations from getting worse. Write things down, ask questions, and be vigilant about symptoms no matter how small.
