A recent health condition flare up slows things down for me. I stress out worrying if this the beginning of my elderly decline. Careful what I eat is a struggle to balance stress and eating right.
The point is that we know our bodies better than anyone else. We may not have the knowledge depth medically trained people do, conditions, treatments and such, but we know us. I think there are times when we forget that as well as how all of us works when facing issues, conditions, illnesses that life throws at us.
Paying attention to our health can prevent situations from getting worse. Write things down, ask questions, and be vigilant about symptoms no matter how small.
If you see on a label, Zero Sugar, read the ingredients to know the sweetener used.
Have a wonderful week

Sorry you're going through something - hopefully it rectifies soon. I never trust anything that claims to be zero sugar - too many unhealthy substitutes that I know aren't good. Even chewing gum now has asparatame which is something I know I need to avoid at all costs.
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
DeleteThe thing about chemical sweeteners is that the reaction can be subtle, and take time to build up. It took a while for me to figure out asparatame and I are a hard no.

I think many of us are realizing that life is a little more fragile than it used to be and sometiems that is a bit daunting.
ReplyDeleteJeanie,
DeleteDaunting it is, especially when dealing with a system that would have us quietly
just listen. Listening is as good to a point. Fragility doesn’t appear to be flexible.

Thanks for the advice, wise words. And I'm just adding one thing on the sugar topic.....aspartame is terrible for us to consume.
ReplyDeleteSheri,
DeleteI agree. I don’t understand why it is still used.

I'm sorry to here you are going through some health issues. If anyone knows about changing things up for better health it's me. We can only do what we can do and you and correct when you write that we know our bodies better than anyone. A medical person knows how the body is supposed to work. Not every one's body it the same. Our medical is now, one fit for all. That is thanks to insurance companies, big pharma and our government. We have to care for ourselves as much as we can.
ReplyDeleteNicole,
DeleteWell said. When research cranks out a different treatment, it is like a new fad that doesn’t fit with everyone.

Have you read, Plant Powered Plus by Will Bulsiewicz, MD? Might be of help.
ReplyDeleteI will let you know how my reading goes. The book sounds like it will be an assett.
Delete❤️
DeleteThank you, Ivy
ReplyDeleteI will check the book out. I think a daily routine for gut health is very important.

I have his two other ones too. I like the info. Wishing you great health.
DeleteI hope that you are feeling better this week. And, like yourself, I too think about a decline in health with each passing year and your comment that we know ourselves is well taken. It’s not a one size fits all situation.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice,
DeleteNot one size is spot on.
Thankfully, I have an appointment with my primary doctor.
