Thoughts on social media

Change is needed. I stopped spending time on Instagram.
For a second or two, I missed seeing how folks and animals are doing. I also thinned out what I watch on YouTube.

Doing others things instead, fluffs things up for me. I’ve learned that not all creators are skilled in being sensitive to their audience. Creators can be so wrapped up in their lives, they fail to consider people are also waiting, wondering, expecting news.

Viewers have to accept creators have things going on in their lives that they don’t want to or may not be ready to share. When to vs when not to is a fine balance. Think adjustments.

Telling the audience news, but withhold the particulars, some very basic, until the video next week I feel, is disappointing and hugely inconsiderate.
When things like that happen, I unsubscribe or block. The same on social media as in real life. If you don’t like the service, then don’t go back. People prefer places where the experiences are good.

Social media can provide perspective. Managing the time spent as well as building favorites helps enhance the experience.

Storm Over, Pressure is Lifted, Drive Safe

Reading the Birdseed

The atmospheric pressure must be at work along with the tension the snow storm brings because today I have a feeling of being out from under a dark cloud. I feel lighter, more energetic, creative.

Adding. I’ve been on a journey to diversify the YouTube channels I watch. Craft shows are replacing comfy camping videos.

I watched about ten minutes of hands making a gift box out of cardboard. Did I learn anything? Yes. Is it useful? Yes. I gained a few tips, and, saw an example of the hands only style video filmed well. Not all videos of that style are that good. A hand dance going from scissors to paper to glue is lovely.

What else I notice in my journey is the status of my own creativity. Watching people make things is inspiring. Instead of multiple camp set  ups, I see craft materials going together.

I hope y’all put effort into regularly viewing creative shows, when your time allows. I believe it can help lift your spirits like it has mine.

The sun just came out. Still, the snow won’t melt in the cold temperatures. That is all right with me because the melt that freezes when the thermometer digits go down in the evening is not a happy event. Nobody likes ice on the roads.

And the winds blowing around a massive amount of powder snow will create iffy roads. A big snow drift suddenly ahead is also not a happy event.

Vlog Update

The debut of my YouTube channel moves into October.

Also, the name has been changed to my old favorite:

New England Post Road.

In 2016, my plan was to start a New England focused travel blog. It didn’t happen. The blog never made it out of the Private setting.
During the tremendous amount of time brainstorming my vlog, I realized the name change fit my goals to build a brand with a solid title. I also like the transitional aspect of content being from posting online.
My vlog isn’t travel focused. It is merely a general content variety vlog YouTube channel.
