The Closer It Gets

There are days when what we want is not far away, but waiting for it to become closer feels like a million hours will pass until it arrives.

America is, I believe, in real trouble. In the morning hours of 11 September 2001, the very real threat we were at war permeated everything. I heard jets in the sky with an urgency that I had not felt before. I wasn't scared or angry. I was too busy praying.

Immediately, I wanted to hear from our leaders. I wanted to hear from the powers that be. Leadership was my focus.

America's leadership, I feel, is seriously in jeopardy of being overtaken by a person that is proven to be clearly untrustworthy.

The reasoning for supporting the felon, that I've heard, is that they do not like the man, but they like his policies.

I say, then support the office of the President of the United States no matter who wins.

For the presidential election 2024,
I will accept and respect whoever wins.

Please, Support the next President of the United States.

Americans need to unite, not fight each other.

Dead Creek Boat Launch 2017

Does 2017 fee like a long time ago?
The day in July 2017 that I took that photograph of the Dead Creek boat launch along Route 17 in Addison, Vermont, there was a Monarch butterfly fluttering around the area behind me. It was a gorgeous bright sunny day with no wind.
On the left behind me in the woods area, there was a wild type of apply tree with ripe fruits. It was a beautiful tree with white blossoms in the spring.
Wild Type of Apples 2017

After I posted about it here, when I returned, the tree looked like somebody had poured bleach on one side, half tree dead, other half living. I didn't see it blossom again. I think the last time I looked, the tree is dead. I stopped posting about trees after two more over the years that I posted about became damaged.

Nature changes the landscape more than humans do. Our long term damage, however, doesn't recover as well a Nature's own repairs.

The World feels like that poor tree, especially in America. On one front, nobody stirred up things to bring about chaos and violence. On the other hand, violence is supported and encouraged by a political figure who is now suffering from the sick actions of another.

And now I hear in the news report maybe it is time to stop the political violence.
The hypocrisy is nauseating.
Face it, the former president that lost the last election will win the presidential election this year. A man strongly supporting and encouraging violence, will be our next president.
It isn't a matter of you get what you paid for or even be careful what you wish for.
It is what we have supported to be the leadership and atmosphere in America, and the World.
There are at least 2 American women, Clinton and Obama, who can run for president of America and win.
I have no doubt about that.

As it is with the choices we have, Vote!
Do no harm.
Don't play the blame game.
Don't get sucked into conspiracy theories.

Hello Spring

Crocus in March

In comparison to the world 15 days ago when I posted this blog's pause, the news media appears to be happy to be held hostage by outrageous statements from you know who. Violence continues as any good news crouches under the weight of politics and war.

My blog pause isn't because of blogging burn out. The world around me has a glacier weight that is building with each headline I read about you know who. It is impossible to get away from that sheer stupidity that he gets that much attention instead of being behind bars.

I am not a weak person. Severe emotional pain I have endured countless times. I live with depression, PTSD, and anxiety. The depth of the anguish the GOP is creating via supporting you know who, the Mariana Trench pales in comparison.

A very sad part of my misery is the belief I am not the only American who is being negatively impacted by what is going on in American politics.

Pray for Common Sense
Pray for a good presidential candidate to emerge
Pray for America

A Bit of Saturday Chatter

Stern & Waves

Water is fascinating to watch as well as a meditative experience to paint in watercolor. Waves swelling up next to a boat's stern raises images of a deep dark moody ocean rolling towards land.

Study the color patterns. Think about the motion of wind on water, and  the push of gravity. As the tiny waves near the shoreline, delight in the silvery sparkle of surf. In a chilly spring wind, shiver slightly with a shimmering reflection.

A Spring Reflection

That is where I had a coffee this morning. Thinking about nothing but what I could see.

Allergy season means being out and about early because when I take allergy medcine, I normally don't go out again even if it states non-drowsy on the label.

Otter Creek Shoreline

At home, I read the news.

The todo over Twitter's blue check changes is irony on laughable. Entertainers that make massive amounts of money, getting all huffy about a good business decision, when the fee is tiny in comparison to what they charge for a single ticket, is quite ironic.

Reading about Chris Christie's New Hampshire speach helps me recover. Feeling refreshed, I chuckle to imagine a Cheney Christie ticket in the next predidential campaign.

Is it possible, one might ask, that I've had too much fresh air?

No.

Anyway, my nose is still running. It is windy out. The three days of rain in the forecast washing pollen out of the air will be a relief. It will be a good time to write poetry.

Reflection Monday 7 November 2016

November's Progress, digital photo

What to reflect on in November traditionally is what we are thankful for. I suspect many will soon have a fleeting moment of thanks when the election is over. Fleeting because I also believe many Americans, including myself, as well as people around the world may not be pleased with the outcome. One could win outright, and the other by popular vote to lose to the Electoral College.
A prominent issue I've taken from this presidential election is the next four years is time to advocate for changing the nomination and campaign rules. I believe if a person wants to run for office, then they must know the job, the territory, the issues, the entire why and what they want to accomplish in office, and work within a strict campaign budget that's millions less than what is currently being spent.

For this November...reflecting on what to be thankful for is going to feel more important that ever.
